C3/CustomerContactChannels plans to open a center customers can call for information about their health insurance that will bring 500 new jobs to the Salt Lake City Area.
The firm handles outsourced call services for a number of different industries.
"The first wave of hiring in Salt Lake City will be a client that is in the health insurance industry," said Alicia Laszewski, vice president of communications. "We're looking for folks who are already licensed health insurance agents or who are interested in obtaining their license. We would pay for their training and licensing."
The center also will be hiring managers and support staff.
However, just because the first round of hiring is for health-insurance-related work does not mean that 3C/CustomerContactChannels will be limited to that kind of work at its new center at 5215 Wiley Post Way.
Other jobs for different types of clients may be opening. Openings can be found on the firm's website, www.c3connect.com.
"Basically, large companies outsource their customer service calls to us, and these would be customers calling our client, and we would be handling those transactions," Laszewski said. "We're constantly evaluating where the skill sets are best matched to those clients."
The company, based in Plantation, Fla., is a global operation with a number of centers, including another new center that just opened in Twin Falls, Idaho.
The company will host a job fair from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Airport Hilton, 5151 Wiley Post Way.
"That's where folks can have the opportunity to come with a resume and meet with our recruiters. We also have several members of our executive team there to meet with the folks there. It will be a great opportunity," Laszewski said.
"We're a growing company, so if someone wants to come and go through the training program and start out here, part of our corporate culture is promotion from within," she said. "It's really an opportunity to get in with a growing company that has multiple locations."
